FIGure OUT | Tree Planting Initiative launched at Fresno State University in partnership with Jewel of Justice

On July 15th, 2024 Amarikwa Acres launched the first FIGure OUT Program at Fresno State College, in collaboration with the Amarikwa Family Foundation and Jewel of Justice .

The FIGure OUT Program is a tree planting initiative designed to inspire and teach how to propagate trees from existing ones, helping to repopulate the world and reduce carbon emissions. As farmers, our program focuses on techniques for propagating fig trees that can be applied to all tree species.

The inaugural program was held at Fresno State through the GWC STEA2M Program, led by Jewel of Justice. GWC STEA2M (George Washington Carver: Science Technology Engineering Agriculture Arts Mathematics) is a community and university collective of educators dedicated to advocating for and advancing racial justice and equity in STEM education, particularly for Black and Indigenous students.

We are excited to partner and launch this program to kick start the foundations time here in Fresno building legacy and experiences amongst the youth and community. https://amarikwaacres.com/figure-out/
